Amirzai Sangin
Sangin was born as the first son to Amirgul Gulshakhel, a tailor, on 6 June 1949 in the Urgun District of Paktika Province. Sangin attended primary school in Urgun and secondary school in Gardez, Paktia Province. He graduated from Afghanistan’s Telecommunications Training Center (TTC), and arrived in London in August 1969, where he studied for six years, obtaining an engineering degree in electronics and communications from South London College, London.
ABOUT FOUNDER
- Engineering Degree in Electronics and Communications from London.
- Teacher and Head of Telecom Training Institute, Kabul, 1975-1980
- Airport communications project, King Khaled Internatioanl Airport, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 1981-1984.
- Planning and design of Swedish Mobile networks 1984-1990
- On behalf of Swedish Telecom, winning Licenses and establishment of Mobile companies in Latvia, Estonia, Hungary, Russia, Italy and India 1990-2000
- Minister of Communications and IT, Afghanistan 2004-2014 with major achievements
- Establishment of Afghan Telecom company in Afghanistan 2004 and Salam Mobile Network in 2014
- Gave every Afghan mobile phone via 5 Mobile licensed companies
- Established electronic ID system and today electronic ID is being issued to every Afghan
- Established optical networks giving Internet access to most Afghans
